Here’s what happened in January…

Happy New Year everyone! Hopefully you managed to enjoy some rest and relaxation over the holiday period and are making a good start on your goals for 2023. It’s been a busy month at Venly, full of planning, events, and some important product updates. Having greatly expanded our team over the course of 2022, we’re excited to hit the ground running this year. Here’s what we got up to in January:

Products

Venly began implementation of KYC processes across some products.

Venly’s Shopify App got a whole lot more powerful with the arrival of Avalanche NFTs on the platform. Now there are even more options for store holders looking to sell their NFTs and, of course, even more choices for buyers. Meanwhile, we took a big step forward in ensuring our customers are protected from fraud or hackers with our implementation of KYC checks for certain actions in the Venly Market and with the Venly Wallet.

Events

Venly on stage at PG Connects, London.

There were a bunch of exciting events through January. Our CEO Tim was in Davos for the World Economic Forum and Geneva for the Production Technology Seminar, discussing the benefits of Web3 and the future of gaming on the blockchain. He was also joined in London by our Head of Marketing, Stefan Colins, at PG Connects, to give a keynote address and join a panel discussion.

Community

The Venly community on Discord was continuing the fun off the back of the Christmas Giveaway in December, with the launching of the new Venly Game Nights, with token and NFT prizes given out to the winners! And on Twitter, the first of our polls for the year revealed that people can’t get enough of The Sandbox, the Web3 game onboarding thousands of users a day thanks to Venly’s Wallet.

Content

Venly Expert Talks continues to feature great guests.

Our Content Manager Alex got the chance to sit down with some industry luminaries for our Expert Talks Podcast. Episode 43 features Julien Servat, co-founder of MetaSports Arena, discussing how sports and entertainment will take their place in the metaverse. Episode 44, meanwhile, saw futurist Dr Mark van Rijmenam drop by to give his insights on AI, climate and Web3.

The theme of climate and sustainability was picked up in an article on our blog, as well, alongside pieces exploring the influence of the Metaverse on education, and the power of interoperable NFTs.

That’s it for January. Look out for us at NFT Paris in February and stay tuned to our Twitter and Discord for more updates!
